Pinea’s hidden gem, Root Cellar Whiskey Bar, is located in the lower level of the W Washington DC’s Mediterranean-inspired restaurant. A collection of some of the world’s best whiskeys, award-winning scotches, rare bourbons, and local ryes line the brick archways of the bar while a cozy fire flickers nearby. Chef Barry Koslow's bites menu features sharable dishes, such as house made charcuterie, all which perfectly pair with the drink menu which includes barrel-aged cocktails and superb wines. Happy hour, monday-friday, from 4:30 - 6:30 pm, features bites and select sips for half price. In warmer months, the adjacent patio opens with outdoor seating and an unrivaled view of Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of the nation's capital.
